Of mice and men

Two weeks ago I saw a mouse in my apt. Little tiny mouse. Management sent a pest control to put out poison blocks. Didn't really do much. Then I saw one three times the size of the first one. Called management again. I saw the same little one run into my pantry. I started emptying the pantry of everything. Saw the bigger one watching me. He ran behind a book case. Two guy finally showed up. One of them had a thing with a grabber and tried snatch it. Both of the guys freaked out when it ran at them. They finally cornered it and got it. So they couldn't find the smaller one. Pest control is coming out on Friday to set bigger traps. Seems the apt across the hall had issues as well. Now my pantry is cleaned out. I washed the cooking pots and pans I had stored in the pantry. I'm still freaked out. I've lived here for six yrs and never had mice before now. Ick!

Ugh, mice. They make you feel so gross and they're such a pain.

My daughter has lived in her town house for almost 10 years and never had a mouse - until now. She freaked out, threw out everything in her pantry, and is going nuts about it. Considering that she grew up in a house where we had snakes (that were there because there were mice to eat) I think it's hysterical, but she's not amused.

Are you sure it was a big mouse and not a rat?

About a year before Mum died we had a rat in the house ... Jiffy took one look and ran in the opposite direction (so much for terriers being bred to chase after smaller animals!)

Yes, we spent the next year looking round corners!
