I got my first job when I was sixteen. I worked in a local shoe store. With my first paycheck for two weeks, I bought a birthstone ring. I loved that little ring. I had it for over thirty years. Some one broke into my apt and stole my jewelry box along with a tv and other things. That was when I learned having a jewelry box was not a great idea. They just busted down the door and grab easy stuff. It was on my dresser in my bedroom so it was easy picking. They got my high school senior ring, a few rings my family had given me and other jewelry. Nothing really worth anything, but memories.
