Back in Jan, I wrote this drabble for open_on_sunday.
They had just began having new mods there. I also posted it on my personal
journal. It never appeared on the community journal. I sorta freaked
out about it thinking it wasn't good enough. So I deleted it on my own
journal. Then this week it finally popped up on the community journal.
Seems it had gotten stuck in the queue. So I am posting it again to my
personal journals here on DW and LJ.

I stare into the mirror and can’t really see who I am.

The monks used Buffy to create me, so shouldn’t I be shorter, have blonde hair or green eyes?

I jump when I turn around because Spike is standing behind me.

That gets him a thump on the arm. He growls and rubs where I hit him.

My weak punch didn’t hurt him a bit, but he plays like it did.

I look in the mirror again.

Spike and I have the same blue eyes.

Maybe the monks took a little of him as well to make me me.

Willow is betwixt and between a crossroads.

I abide in the fringes of her mind and soul encouraging her.

Whispering into her ear to assure her she has the power.

That only she can do the impossible.

The thought that she is clever enough to do this swells her pride.

Ego is a dangerous thing.

Taking the life of a fawn is just the beginning.

Bringing back the dead opens the doorway so I can slip through.

Mortals believe souls set them apart from demons.

How amusing that is. Souls give way to corruption so easily.

Corruption is my goal.

Spike listened to Angelus spouting off about how he wanted to plunge the world into Hell.

Well isn’t that just ducky. Big poof wants to spin them all into Hell.

What Angelus doesn’t realize is demons who run Hell don’t really like vampires.

Vampires are considered half breeds. Not exactly welcome in the demon world.

The humans would be hunted into extinction by the demon hordes.

Then they would start on vampires and other half breeds.

Spike wasn’t going to let Angelus arse around and get them all killed.

Time to make nice with the Slayer and save the world.

His body wracked with pain from her fists.

His heart suffered even more damage.

His poor Slayer, she was breaking into shattered pieces.

Most demons believed the Slayer was as tough as a diamond.

He knew better. She was just a girl under that all that bravo.

The thought she killed that girl drove her to destroy herself.

She had taken out her anger at herself on his body.

He understood her better than her friends.

He just wished he could take her anguish as he took her violence.
