Carrie Fisher
Dec. 28th, 2016 12:12 pmI was saddened to learn that Carrie Fisher passed yesterday. I've loved her since the movie Shampoo. She was only 14 in that movie. She was just 19 when she played Princess Leia. I was never a fan of fairy tale princesses. Disney movie princesses left me cold. A princess who carried a blaster and fought in wars that was impressive to me.
Then there was Carrie herself. The daughter of two very well known actors who grew up to be an actor, writer and a metal health advocate. She was funny and tragic at the same time. We've lost another amazing person who was messed up and honest about all of it. I'll miss her.

Saying goodbye to J. R. Ewing
Mar. 12th, 2013 12:57 pm
Last night was a very sad episode of Dallas. J.R. Ewing was laid to rest.
Larry Hagman was an amazing man, actor and the center of Dallas.
The Dallas theme has always been upbeat. They decided to change it
a bit to show honor for both J. R. Ewing and Larry Hagman. ( video and quotes... )

RIP Ernest Borgnine
Jul. 8th, 2012 04:49 pm
One of the saddest things about growing up is losing all the wonderful
actors you've enjoyed all your life. Last year at Dragon*Con, I got to see
Ernest Borgnine. He came walking through the hallway laughing and
talking to everyone. He will be missed greatly.
The Associated Press reports that veteran actor Ernest Borgnine has died at 95.
Borgnine's most famous roles include Quinton McHale on the TV series McHale's Navy,
and the titular role in Marty, for which he earned an Academy Award in 1955. He also starred
in The Wild Bunch, The Poseidon Adventure, and Bad Day at Black Rock.
Borgnine frequently worked in TV, making guest appearances on several shows, and earning
an Emmy nomination at 92 for his work on ER. Younger audiences may recognize him as the
voice of Mermaid Man on Sponge Bob SquarePants.
