[Error: unknown template qotd]Job related: Do you keep women's clothing any where besides in Women's Wear?

Guy in his thirties returned an item with no receipt so he got a gift card.
Explain to Guy, "You can use this gift card on anything in the store."
Guy smirks and say, "Can I buy you?"
Seriously, I'm almost sixty and this guy is about thirty.

Personal: Do you color/frost your hair?  Oh yeah, I pay big bucks to have Gray hair. *frowns*

 General Retail Rant

Total idiot comes up to me demanding a comment card.
I give him one and ask if there is anything I can do to help him.
Total idiot says, "Your company is unAmerican.  You don't sell B B Guns!"

Very old man comes up and wants to pay his credit card bill.  Has a check all written out.
I ask for either his statement or his credit card so I can  process the payment.  We can use either to do a payment.
Seems he just got out of the hospital. While he was in there, his wife shredded both the statement and the card.
I tried to explain I couldn't process a payment without either the statement , the credit card or at least the card number.
We have do not have any access to customer information at store level.  Very old man gets upset and starts to yell at me.  I call my manager who explains that we can't process a payment with out the statement, credit card or card number.
Man gets even more upset and starts to shake.

I offered to call the credit dept of our company, but explained they would not give out any information to me. They will only talk to the card holder. The very old man get upset again and says he is hard of hearing and can't talk on the phone.  So he refused to talk to anyone at the credit dept.  Then he says since I won't take his payment, he doesn't owe any money to the company.  I told him I did not say that.  I said I couldn't process his payment with the information he was able to give me.

He stormed off saying they would just have to put him in jail for not making his payment.  His payment was only about $11.

James Marsters  No surprise to those to know me.
Why James Marsters? )
kuda: (Default)
Okay, I didn't answer this question, but it did prompt me to remember something.
I might give children books to read or read to them, but I would fit the book to the child.
Under the cut is the memory this question sparked.

Which books will you certainly read to your children, nieces, nephews or godchildren?

That I have a fixation on James Marsters. Mixed in with the books are Spike and Capt John figures, drawings, and DVDs with him.

That I read a lot of mystery or horror  books.  Lots of Stephen King,  Dean Koontz and so on.

That I love candles.  Have several on the shelves.

That I have two Basenjis. Have photos of them there.

Also pictures of my best friend, Tommy.

Also that I tend to forget to dust the shelves. LOL.

LOL! I'm sure my son and I would be #1 and # 2.

We have two basenjis.  Max and Athena are crate trained.

I would have lots of voice messages that would be like this:

"Where are you?"

"When will you be home?"

"I'm hungry!"

"Athena is being mean to me!"

"Max is being a drama queen."

"No I'm not!  Athena is taking up all the crate space."

"Am not!"

I think fan fiction is the greatest compliment a fan can give a writer.  Even bad fan fiction is the way a fan shows love for the characters and the writer who created them.  Fan fiction is a loving expression of a fan's pleasure of writer's work.  As long as the fan ficton writer doesn't make a profit I see nothing wrong in fan fiction.  Not all writers dislike fan fiction being based on their works.  Some do object and the fan fiction writer should respect the writer's right to object and not use that writer's creation for their own writing.

I have never observed a UFO or any life form from beyond our planet.

I do believe there is more that exists beyond our limited knowledge of the universe.

Space is vast and we know very little of it really. Why should we think we are one of a kind?

Isn't it kind of vain or arrogant to believe we are alone in all that there is?

At nineteen I married and became the step mother of two boys. The older was five and the youngest was two and half.
I love both of the boys, but the younger is very special to me. We bonded and that bond has lasted beyond the twenty
year marriage that ended in divorce. My step son and I chose to be part of each others life after the divorce. That was
seventeen years ago.

As an adult, he has seen his parents go through three marriages each. He had a short marriage himself.
He once told me he didn't want to fall in love with any one who had children because he saw all the painful things
I had to deal with in ex-wives, ex-in-laws and all the cheating from his dad. He is afraid he would fall in love with the kids
and lose them after the relationship ended. I asked him how his life would have been if I had felt that way.
He looked very serious and said, "I would be dead now. Both my parents were not there for me and you always
were." I still cry when I think remember that moment. Our bond is my most important and proudest accomplishment in my life.

Depends on what happened. I tend to give people lots of chances.

If they honestly try to change the problems between us, I willing to give the relationship another chance.

I do have a limit where once that is reached, I cut the person out of my life.
I don't hold onto the anger or hurt. That only gives them power over me.
Once I'm done with a person, they are as good as dead to me.

I raised my two step sons and miscarried one of my own. I am divorced so there isn't a partner to worry about.

I have a friend who is gay. I wish I could have a child for him. No, I don't think it would affect our friendship  if I had a child for him.
It would make me very happy to be able to give him a child. He would be a wonderful father. Very loving and caring.
A child would be lucky to have him for a father.

Wonder how many different pictures of Spike will be loaded to answer this question?

[Error: unknown template qotd]Yes, a couple of times.  My given name, maiden name and married name are quite common.

Makes things like doctor's visits, work and credit reports difficult at times.  Things on record get mixed up easily.

I make sure the birthday date and SSN are mine before I sign anything.

[Error: unknown template qotd]I've met a few celebrities.  Cindy Crawford came to the store where I worked to sign copies of her book.  She was a total diva bitch.
John Walsh, father of John Walsh, came to the store to sign one of his books.  He was warm and friendly. He spent time talking to the employees while he was there.

Met Loretta Lynn on a USO tour in Germany.  She was amazing.  She had one of her daughters and her husband, Doo, on the tour with her. Loretta stayed till everyone there had a chance to get an autograph and a few moments to talk to her.

I attended DragonCon last year in Atlanta. Saw many actors and spoke to a few.  James Marsters was very friendly and very good to his fans.

[Error: unknown template qotd]We have two adopted Basenijs.  The male is very nervous while the female is scared of being touched by your feet.   Otherwise they are happy and loving dogs.  Makes me wonder if they were abused somehow before they were adopted by us.

[Error: unknown template qotd]I've had many experiences like that.  I saw my father's spirit. I looked away, looked back and he was still there. I visited Dachau, a concentration camp near Munich.  As soon as we crossed the bridge, I started crying and didn't stop till we crossed the bridge on the way out.  Some places have an imprint were terrible things have occured. I'm not the type to burst into tears like that.

[Error: unknown template qotd]I worked for a major discount retailer in the Layaway section for many years. Black Friday was one of the worst days each year.  We would have people at the register, boxing and putting things away. We asked the customers to stand behind a line until we called them to the register.  They would push and shove each other. People would take things from someone else's cart while in line. They would argue about the prices or why they couldn't have longer than the time allowed. I even saw two customers who got into a fist fight over a tv.  They would have us ring it up and then say that they didn't want to spend that much. They would ask us to delete things. The customers behind them would get angry.  Many customers were just wonderful. It's the few who acted like jerks that made it difficult.

[Error: unknown template qotd]We have several dishes we love and always have each holiday.  In the past, I did the whole meal from start to finish. Now that there are only two of us, I don't cook a whole turkey.  I buy turkey breast from a local restaurant which is very moist and tasty.  Then I do all the side dishes and desserts we love.  This way we have enough leftovers to have at least two more meals without getting tired of turkey or throwing it away.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Giblet gravy. I could never eat it. For those who don't know Giblets are the the heart, liver, neck and gizzard of the turkey.  The Giblets are cooked to create a broth and then the meat is chopped to go into the gravy made from the broth. Boiled eggs are chopped and added to the gravy.
