Question about Trump

Trump announced he is running for President again. People will send him money for his campaign. Didn't he use money from his last campaign to pay off a mistress? Does he have to provide how he uses funds? Could he use these funds for lawyers if he is charged by the legal system for Jan 6th or taking documents he wasn't allowed to keep?🤔
