Fire detectors

kudaWhen I moved into my apt there was a single fire detector that was hardwired. It was in the hallway between the kitchen and bedroom. Then they added two battery fire detectors. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. Late last night one of them started chripping. I put new batteries in the newer ones. Still heard chripping. Pulled both of them down and realized it was the hardwired one chripping. Changed the backup battery and it still was chripping. Since it was after 10 pm, I gave up and just closed the door. Emailed the office about it. They are in no hurry to to deal with it. So guess I will be closing the door to muffle it tonight. Bet it will be a week or longer before someone will show up. It is background noise now.
