Never saw the story of Doppelganger Buffy and Buffy. Was the Buffy from the world where Cordy wished Buffy had never come to Sunnydale?
I don't read F/F slash. Xander in fan fiction is different than canon Xander. whichclothes writes a great Spander. He's grown up, realized a few thngs and isn't hateful toward Spike. He got past the evil dead guy thing and sees Spike for who he is. So it's kind of like how Buffy is different in fan fiction.
My theory of Buffy and Spike's last night was all about just holding each other. I don't think if they had made love, Buffy would have been able to leave Spike in the Hellmouth. I always felt she realized at that last moment as things were coming down around them that she was losing him and how much she did love him. I always believed he did believe her words, but realized he needed to push her away to save her. I remember how he told her the night of them being close terrified him. I think he knew he was going to end up dying to save her and if they had made love it would have been more difficult for him to send her away at the end.
