Earlier today

coalitiongirl posted about googling her name to see what came up.
She had been having some problems with people being nasty toward her in fandom.
She also found some of her writing archived without her permission.

slaymesoftly also googled her name and came up with a few surprises as well.

So of course, I googled my user name to see what came up. Most of it didn't surprise me.
Lots of LJ stuff popped up. Some of my old Flixster stuff came up as well. Even a buffy forum
came up and that surprised me. I haven't been on there for ages. I even found one on a soap
opera site that I followed several years ago.

What did surprise me was two things that I didn't know about and went WTF !

A few years ago I fell in love/lust with a character on a TV show.
That show ended just as I found it. I watched it in syndication.
That show was Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. The character was Spike.
Reading fan fiction brought me into the world of fandom. That brought
me to Live Journal. On LJ, I found people around the world who enjoyed
the same things I do. I might not agree with all of their opinions, but I love
reading about those opinions and their lives. Lately, there has been a great
deal of angst in my fandom. I feel bad that many have been hurt by words,
opinions or anything else. So hugs to all.

Most of my flist is ticked off about the cross posting to Facebook and/or Twitter.
Thankfully, I am not involved with either of those sites or services.
I seldom have my real name on anything online. My family and friends outside of
fandom know nothing about what I put on LJ. It's none of their business what I do
here on LJ.

So I am not too worried about the cross posting issue, but have added this to my css
as instructed by

I was given so many birthday wishes yesterday. I loved all of them.

Tommy came over and we watched TV and ate junk food. My favorite way
to spend my birthday. Low key and relaxing.
