Two drabbles for LJ's open_on_sunday prompt of First Meeting(s).

We know the Monks created memories of Dawn for everyone.

This is my take on the first meeting of Spike and Dawn.

Her mom was on the couch talking to someone.

Their voices were low so she couldn’t make out what was being said.

Quite as a mouse, she sneaked down the steps.

A man with very blond hair was talking to Buffy now.

They seemed very serious, but then he glanced toward the stairs.
 
He winked at her and gave her a grin.

Dawn smiled back and sneaked up the stairs to her room.

She scribbled into her diary about the stranger.

Blonde, all dressed in black…oh yeah, bad boy.  But yummy!

A tiny movement on the stairs caught Spike's eye.

Ah, there she was. 

The Slayer was yammering on about staking him if he didn’t play along.

He half listened to her, but watched the little girl.

She would be a tasty nibble.

All tender and sweet.

He flashed a smile and a wink when Buffy  wasn’t paying attention.

The chit grinned and fled up the stairs.

These Summers women interested him.

Joyce reminded him of his sweet mother.

The Slayer…she haunted his dreams and drove him crazy.

Niblet.  That fit the little one. 

Just a  bite size of a girl.

Ooh, I liked this! And for all the Big Bad thoughts, it makes sense that the monks would give Dawn an additional layer of protection by making Spike's memories of her fond.

I always wondered if the Monks hadn't taken a bit of Spike to form Dawn. The blue eyes, darker hair and her being taller than Buffy make you wonder. And Dawn's memories of Angel were of him making Buffy cry. LOL. Yet she felt comfortable with Spike as he did her.

Thanks. Dawn was still a little girl during this time. She didn't show up for a couple of years after this point. Spike was still a bit evil so he would enjoy the idea of tasting, but as we know he got to love the Summers women.
