It's amazing to see how they cast. When I see the show I can't imagine anyone else playing the part but I find it weird that sometimes the actor wasn't the first choice for the role.

There was a totally different Willow in the first cast. Nathan Fillion tried out for Angel. Most of the female cast tried out for Buffy. The original pilot had Riff Regan as Willow.

Thanks for sharing this. Love the way it shows how much an actor can impact a show, even following a script. It really does make a difference. :D

A script can only give a base of a character. It's the director and the actor who breath life into the character. We were lucky that we had the actors and director in this show who understood how to bring them to life.
