July 1 - Have there been any periods in your life that could be described as chaotic?

Yes, many times and this is just one of them. My father died in Texas while I was living in Germany. It took me three days to get home. Bad weather kept us from flying. We were home maybe two days and my mother's mom went into the hospital. She died a week after my father. We asked for two weeks more from the military to be with my mom. When we finally got back to Germany, they almost arrested my husband for being AWOL. The second emergency leave didn't reach them till the day after we got back in country. In TX the local law showed up at my mom's house to arrest my husband. She so didn't need that. So I think that was more than a bit chaotic.

People have no idea what life in the military is like. My mom cried when we told her we were going into the military. My dad took her to another state during WWII. He left her alone with a baby and only a can of tomato sauce. She just knew how difficult the life could be. And often it was lonely and scary. The first year we lived in Germany, my husband was gone 250 days. I didn't have a car or speak the language. I was alone with two kids under twelve in a small town. But I made it work. Made me stronger.
