My Reaction to Bin Laden's Death

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.
Seems this quote isn't by Martin Luther King, Jr, but that does not lessen the truth of it.

 Martin Luther King, Jr did say this in his book, Strength to Love:


Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.

Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence,
and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction....

The chain reaction of evil--hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars--must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

 

I struggled with what to post on the reports of the death of Osama Bin Laden. 
I had mixed feelings over it.  I do mourn the loss of lives due to this man.
I worry that more lives will be lost after as well. 
It seems a victory for the time being, but what will result from this? 
More war. More danger. More loss.

I hate all the questions in the media about it.
I don't want this to stir any more revenge on either side.
Sadly, I think it will just keep on going on.

The reaction to the news bothered me. I do not rejoice in anyone's death. Not even someone like as horrible as Bin Laden.

Ack! When I said I speak only for my nation, I meant cos I didn't want to speak for any other, including yours, cos I didn't feel I had the right. Even though it might read like I was saying we were better than them I meant all of us LOL *facepalm*

We are diminished when any of us passes and even someone who has harmed me and mine as he did with his hate.

You come in my house and surely as I type this I will happily end you. Threaten my family and surely I will end you or die trying. Dance in the streets or celebrate the death==hurts too much to even imagine.

Seriously, if anyone laid a hand or used a weapon on anyone in front of me, I would use whatever force needed to stop it. And yes, I could easily kill if needed.

Yet, I take no joy in Bin Laden's death. I fear that his death will create even worse things done in his honor. Evil begets evil.
